We had the best unplanned day exploring the lovely town of Kalekoy in the beautiful south west coast of Turkey! If you ever find yourself in Turkey's south west coast you have to add this sleepy little town to your list.
The water is beautiful, it's surrounded by the most beautiful mountains and there are some really nice hikes in the area, like part of the famous Lycian Way. You can't miss it! Even if you are staying in Kas, just come to Kalekoy on a day trip and spend the day in Kalekoy. We will be coming back here to sleep and do nothing :)

So what's happening here is a three-lane highway. But this middle lane, even though it has the arrows sometimes going in one direction, is really for passing

Halfway there. We finally are on the Laishan trail after a couple weeks of trying to find it

and different tombs scattered along that mountain. It's right next to the castle that we're going to

We can't get over how beautiful Turkey is. I don't know if you can see it through the

camera but these mountains are so lush and it's crazy because the climate is very dry

but everything as you can see is very green and the water too, all the different colors

We made it to Simena Castle and it was like a 15 minute hike and the outfit was totally

appropriate it wasn't too bad. It's really cool here, it has amazing views

The town below used to be called Simena. It was a Lycian village and also pretty important

for the Lycian civilization. The castle was built by the king of Rhodes to defend this city from

pirates so that's as much as we know right now but it's very beautiful the village is now called

kalakoy which means castle village and we're gonna explore up the castle and then head into town

this place has the most amazing views just look at it look at this we can't get enough of it

So that's the trip that we did. It's taking some of the Laishan way and then coming down

from the castle. But really there's no way that cars could even be inside this town

The sidewalks are super narrow. There's no streets at all. It's a really cool place

some cool shops, restaurants, and we're gonna go have some lunch. We found our lunch spot
