WHY YOU NEED TO VISIT PUNTA ALLEN ASAP! Our 4-day Trip To This Unspoiled Paradise 🇲🇽
Sep 6, 2023
In today's video we share our 4 day experience in Punta Allen! From how to get there, what to do in Punta Allen and why you should visit before it's too late!
Punta Allen stole our hearts since day 1. It's very rare as a traveler to find a place like this in 2022. We can only hope it stays this pure and remote and that it doesn't become like other places in Mexico like Tulum or Holbox... we witnessed first hand what unsustainable tourism can do to beautiful destinations and we don't want that to happen to Punta Allen.
We had a blast during our 4 days in Punta Allen. Sure, we didn't do much, but that's part of the vibe here. You go there to relax, disconnect and be forced to enjoy the little things in life. If you decide to visit, please enjoy responsibly!
We hope you enjoy the video! If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments. We are always happy to help :)

Welcome to Punta Allen, a secluded fishing village that has managed to remain hidden from most tourist readers
0:08
This town is great for what it doesn't have. There are no paved roads, stop signs or ATMs
0:15
It's a place to disconnect, enjoy long morning coffees and be one with nature
0:22
This was by far the most remote place we visited during our 70 days in the Yucatan Peninsula
0:29
Rarely as a traveler you get to experience places like this, where life moves slow and there's time for everything
0:36
It's not easy to get to Punta Aren, but it's worth it. We took a bus from Cancun to Tulum
0:41
then a very bumpy two-hour taxi ride to the Cianca and Visitor Center
0:46
Then we waited for our next ride for almost three hours. And the final leg was an hour-long lancha through paradise
0:52
before we reached town and made it to our hotel. This video summarizes our fortnight trip to Punta Allen and we divided it into three different parts
1:05
One, getting to know Punta Allen. Two, the one and only tour
1:10
Three, the town of Punta Allen. We hope you enjoy the video and that you get a sense of what being in a remote place like this feels like
1:17
Good morning from the sleepiest little town on the Yucatan Peninsula
1:28
It's 8.30 a.m. on a Monday morning but the only signs of life we see are some street dogs
1:34
Yeah, it's crazy. Like there's literally 10 tourists here and we're staying in an Airbnb hotel but it doesn't
1:40
have a kitchen so we're in a desperate haunt for coffee and breakfast right now
2:12
Are you guys gonna go on the tour? And everyone says that too
2:16
It's like a boat tour where you can see like vanities and dolphins and I think snorkeling will go
2:21
But everyone refers to it as like the tour. Looks good. Bon appetit. Bon appetit
2:27
We tried to rent bikes but the back shop was closed because some of the bikes were under
2:43
repair and so our hosts let us use their bikes. So the other thing to do is to bike to a lighthouse and apparently there's a really
2:55
nice viewpoint there. Take me back to those easy summer days
3:29
When we stopped at nothing, baby Yeah, we stopped at nothing, baby
3:34
They couldn't take us They couldn't change us They couldn't catch us if they tried
3:42
No, we didn't care at all About winter or spring or fall
3:48
We felt so alive And, girl, we were thriving On kisses and sunshine and mischief
3:54
Yeah we had one of those things. These are the speed bumps in town
4:04
I don't know why they're needed, honestly. So you don't bike too fast
4:08
I just want everyone to slow down. And look at the water
4:17
You can't bike the hallway. It's a little bit too sandy. You just start slipping and sliding everywhere
4:22
That's probably why a lot of the bikes are in the shop. A lot of potholes, a lot of sand
4:27
So it's time to start walking to the lighthouse. This is the lighthouse
4:34
We can go up. There's no path, right? Do you see a path
4:41
No. I'm holding this in case we see a crock. You're gonna bash it on the head
4:46
To defend myself. It's better than my hand. That is it for today's activity
4:54
It was a really fun two hours, but it time for us to head back to the hotel have some lunch We having peanut butter sandwiches Gourmet peanut butter sandwiches And then we wait until 5 p until it happy hour time
5:06
Yesterday was our sixth month anniversary since we left and started full-time traveling
5:11
And we finally reached 1,000 subscribers. We already have the watch hours
5:16
And now we can finally apply to be monetized on YouTube. And we just want to say thank you, like if you're one of them
5:22
Thank you so much. If you're not one of them and you're watching this video, Please subscribe
5:27
This is a big moment. Are you ready? Do it. Finally
5:39
Apply. Step one, review partner programs. Accept, accept all. Start
5:50
Get reviewed. It says in progress. That's all we can do. We're getting reviewed
6:07
Uh oh, there's traffic. Be careful. Earlier today when we had the bikes, we explored the other side of town and we saw this bar
6:18
that is awesome. It's like 100% my style, super rustic, there's plastic tables and chairs in the sand
6:25
You might be wondering what we are doing in Punta Ala
6:43
I also wonder how we end up here. Amara also wonders how we end up in these places
6:48
Let me explain it to you. So, I'm usually the person that does research about our destinations and sometimes we're
6:55
read about a place and i'm like that is the most wonderful place in the entire world and that
7:01
usually happens when it's super remote hard to get to and kind of rustic say rustic is a good word
7:09
so this is 40 kilometers south of tulum and we drove through tulum and it is madness yeah but
7:15
the road the 40 kilometer road takes four to five hours to get to by car so you can get here but it's
7:21
just it is described as the worst road in the world so that is what we do as Ways of the World find remote places undiscovered
7:38
we have the luxury to show them to you we are very lucky that we get to do that
7:43
what's left for today in the busy agenda is to enjoy this beer enjoy the sunrise behind us the
7:50
view of the ocean the beautiful view and hopefully find some dinner yesterday we went to a restaurant
7:55
they had one fish left and the fish was like this big so also if the fishermen can't go out there's
8:00
no fish in town so things surprise run out yeah but hopefully hopefully we'll be lucky tonight
8:36
Our host said the sunrise would be beautiful but this was beyond that. What a way to start day two
8:48
Today will be the day that we do the one and only tour. It was supposed to be at 9am but now it's going to be at 12
8:57
so it seems like that's gonna be the activity for today. Other than that, it'll be a slow morning and we should be going on a boat at 12
9:27
you might see some dolphins
9:57
Thank you
10:54
I'm like in the natural boat distracted by what's here because we can keep seeing more animals
11:02
But it was burning. There was two sharks, twice, swimming away from us
11:09
But they were so cute. Are you happy? I'm happy. We're gonna get the snorkels again and see what's by the rocks. Araya
11:18
Hey, there's Araya! there's an eagle ray, that's why I'm running away
11:50
Just got done with the tour. It was awesome. It feels good to be like salty again
11:54
And then we went in the ocean. I can't believe how many turtles we saw. There must have been like 10 or 15 just like from the boat
12:00
We saw the eagle ray from the natural pool. It was awesome. We saw everything
12:05
So now we're pretty hungry. So we're gonna go look for some food and relax for the rest of the day. Take it easy
12:10
one I mean one for each
12:19
I don't need an ID I don't think anyone needs an ID around here sunset time this is the popular spot in
12:33
town all the tourists are here. This is where everyone comes. That is everyone
12:51
Good morning! Today is day three. It's our last full day here in Punta Allen and
12:56
we're super excited because we're finally gonna give you the Grand Tour of
13:00
of the town we're gonna show you the vibe how it looks like so you get a sense of how it really is
13:06
if you decide to come here and why we love it so much and we're gonna start with practice
13:12
life advice why we love this place so much no gracias no
13:25
I don't think anyone spends like four nights here and everyone knows us
13:39
The same spots every day and I would just like come in and say hi to everyone
13:43
We're regulars at this spot. Three days in a row
13:54
This is the town's school, this is the library, this is the soccer field, this is the town's
13:59
police station, this is where you should come at night for drinks on the beach, this is
14:03
where you get your Instagram photo, this is the town's biggest grocery store
14:08
Punta Allen is so small that the church doesn't have a full-time priest, so we've been seeing
14:15
church happening every single day since we got here, and we thought oh wow this is like
14:19
a super religious town, so we asked her host and she was like oh no no no we haven't had
14:23
a priest in three months so that's he's here this week so that's why service has been happening
14:29
every single night in town and everyone is so happy and taking advantage of it if you keep
14:34
walking along that dirt road that is next to the ocean you have little pieces of heaven like this
14:41
that yeah like the beach is not like perfect but you can totally just go in for a swim and we have
14:46
been sitting here for like 20 minutes and all we see we can't show you with the camera because it's
14:50
part but always there like turtle heads like popping to breathe we have seen like at least
14:56
20 so if you are a turtle lover just like come to one of these beaches and swim for a little bit and maybe you be lucky to have an encounter like those turtles are massive this is punta allen oceanfront avenue if you want to stay directly in front of the beach this is where you be there different types of accommodations you can go camping or you
15:14
can go glamping or stay in the beachfront hotel like this one or this one but we chose to stay
15:21
here because the place had really nice reviews our hosts have been amazing we have all this space and
15:27
and right now it's kinda messy because we're packing to go to the beach. We decided this last minute, but we're gonna bike to what apparently is a beautiful beach
15:34
and we can hopefully snorkel and see some turtles! Well, sadly it's time for us to say goodbye to Punta Allen
16:07
We hope you liked the video and that we did a decent job at capturing the vibe here, right
16:14
It's like 100% our kind of place. We fell in love since the first moment we got here, right
16:20
Yeah, this place has been super charming. It's also met a place that still exists in 2022
16:25
power shuts out for like hours every day you know everyone's name after like I don't know a couple
16:31
days in town people people were so genuine and I feel that we were so lucky that we got to experience
16:39
a slower pace of life with our crazy lifestyle we don't get to disconnect like internet is terrible
16:46
like we couldn't work we didn't do much but we didn't do much but like we were able to think
16:53
can just like hang out have coffees for breakfast for like an hour just like listening to the waves
16:57
all like the little things that are that are really cool that are awesome in life and that we didn't
17:02
know we missed like we didn't know we needed this this is not an easy place to get to and that's
17:07
exactly what's perfect about it and why you should come here fast because once they build that road
17:12
that's it yeah the people are gonna come in so it's not gonna stay a hidden gem for long and
17:17
it's so close to tulum and tulum's overcrowded so if the road gets paved like the it's just
17:22
is beautiful here like the beach yeah people are gonna start heading in this direction and if you
17:27
don't enjoy crowds then get your butt here soon this is like a great place to disconnect so if
17:33
that sounds like what you want in life is just like go somewhere and like not know what's going
17:38
on in the rest of the world at all yeah exactly yeah exactly we show you everything like as you
17:45
can see there's no luxuries there's nothing you know fancy about this place but you won't just
17:51
like a very authentic genuine place our place was super comfortable we had like good food if you like
17:56
seafood it's a fishing village so you'll be able to get like fresh seafood it's just like a place
18:01
to have like to yourself kind of like selfishly but like there's no other people not many tourists
18:06
so it's just yeah just you and the beautiful nature and the friendly people in the village
18:12
it was awesome and we hope you liked it if you have questions leave them in the comments if you
18:17
like the video please don't forget to like and subscribe remember we're gonna
18:21
be in the Yucatan Peninsula for 70 days and we're gonna be exploring and
18:26

18:30
time for us to go back to the real world bye Punta Allen yeah goodbye Punta Allen
18:36
it was awesome thanks for the memories thank you for watching bye thank you
18:47
I wake up from a dream It's harder than it seems Birds are flying all around
19:00
Some fall and hit the ground This is where I should belong
19:10
Inside a simple song Running careless down the line
19:21
Beyond the brink of time I will love you till I die
19:31
On shaky grounds You could never understand
19:41
The way I am is not what it seems Tangled up in dreams
