Back in November 2020, after selling everything we owned and started living in Airbnb’s full time around the U.S, we stayed in Dallas for a whole month. We had a few days off during Thanksgiving week, so we decided to drive to Austin and check out the city we’ve only heard good things about. We had such an amazing experience in Austin and it all started with our unique accommodation. That’s why we decided to include this Airbnb in our list of places where to stay in Austin, Texas.

Ready to discover the coolest place where to stay in Austin? Let’s go!
This beautiful remodeled vintage airstream is located only 10 miles south from downtown Austin. A car is a must in this city, especially at this location, since it seemed like getting an Uber/Lyft would not be the fastest or most convenient option. Still, we would stay here again and cannot recommend this peaceful location enough!

General Information about this Austin Airbnb
It’s suited for two people and it’s the perfect couples getaway if you are looking to relax while also experiencing a cool big city like Austin. There are two units sharing the 3.5 acre land that surrounds the property. The hosts live near by (although we never saw them), which is nice in case you need anything during your stay.
The trailer felt very private, quiet and perfect for us since we like to enjoy nature and more so when staying in a big city. There’s something magical about having your coffee quietly every morning surrounded by trees on your private deck, as well as ending your evening with a nightcap in front of the fireplace, with the possibility of seeing a curious family of deer walking by while enjoying all the bright stars.
About the Inside of the Trailer
The inside of the trailer is uniquely decorated as well, perfectly matching the outside. The hosts provided everything we needed. There’s a nice and comfortable couch, a small dining table for two, a fully equipped kitchen (with a hot plate, not a stove), a king sized bed, robes, a smart TV, bluetooth speakers and a record player with a lot of records to listen to, including a lot of Willie Nelson, because well, it’s Austin after all. This place was named after one of his records called The Honeysuckle Rose, which of course is there for you to listen to.
How long did we stay VS. how long you should
We only spent one night here, which we do not recommend! Stay at least 2 nights (more if possible!) to really maximize what this Airbnb has to offer. We had cocktails outside after dinner and stayed up late in front of the fireplace looking at the stars while chatting about how much of a cool city Austin is. We visited during COVID-19 and it was not the same since a lot of things were closed or had gone out of business plus some things we didn’t feel safe doing like indoor dining, so we will definitely be going back for at least one week to fully experience what Austin is all about.
Everything inside this Airbnb is brand new. There were beautiful plants everywhere, there’s a small closet with velvet hangers in the bedroom area and we slept very comfortably on the kind sized bed, which is always appreciated since Gordon is 6 4’. , The WIFI was fast and it was great to have access to all the modern world amenities, while feeling like we were in the middle of nowhere. That’s our kind of vibe.
The bathroom situation in this Austin Airbnb
The bathroom is private and just steps outside of the main trailer. At first we thought it would be inconvenient, but it wasn’t at all. Every detail of this property was so perfectly taken care of as you can see from the photos. How on earth did they make a trailer bathroom look so stylish?
The shower had great pressure, hot and cold water, all the toiletries you need, hair drier and A/C and heat in the bathroom as well as in the main trailer.

Overall thoughts about where to stay in Austin
It’s safe to say we did not want to leave this property. It was sad to say goodbye. Our hosts were so kind and offered so many great suggestions for food and stuff to do. We had lunch and dinner following their suggestions and both were incredibly good. We found this place on Airbnb and the cost per night was $122 (it may vary with seasons, direct link here).
Now you know you should visit Austin and also where to stay if you end up going! If you have any questions about this amazing stay just leave them below or email us. We are here to help!
